Postdocs

The Reykjavik Combinatorics Group (Applications by end of Feb 2010)

There is a postdoc position available, starting in the Fall of 2010 (negotiable). The position will be for up to two years and is funded as part of a Grant for Excellence from the Icelandic Research Fund (dependent on continued funding, which should be clear before the application deadline).

The salary is 330.000 ISK/month.

Interested applicants should send their CV and three letters of recommendation to Einar Steingrimsson [einarst@ru.is]. Applications should be submitted by February 28, 2010. Later applications may be considered.

The group is looking for candidates with research interests in Enumerative and Algebraic Combinatorics and Combinatorics on Words, who will benefit from working with the group and who will contribute to the group's work.

Research and/or Teaching Positions

The Department of Mathematics at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is seeking to fill a position in Algebra. The goal is to start a new group in that field in Brussels.

University of Auckland (Closing date: 20th August 2010)

Applications are invited for a permanent position at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level in the Department of Mathematics, University of Auckland, New Zealand.

This position is intended for candidates who have a PhD in Mathematics and who can demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching at all levels of Mathematics. The successful applicant will have research interests in combinatorics or graph theory, or a field closely related to these.


The Department of Mathematics offers a full range of courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has a growing PhD programme and a vibrant research culture spanning pure and applied mathematics and mathematics education. It is closely affiliated to, and hosts the offices of, the New Zealand Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications.
