     FUTURE WORKSHOP AND CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENTS
     Peter Cameron's 60th birthday conference,  St Martin's College, Ambleside, England
     This meeting will be held at St. Martin's College, Ambleside (Lake District), UK, from Thursday August 23 (afternoon) to Sunday August 26 (morning), 2007. As well as a celebration of Peter's mathematical interests, we hope to gather together as many as possible of his present and former students, collaborators, colleagues and friends. There will also be music, a celebration dinner on the Saturday, and a walk in the hills on the Sunday.
     The following have provisionally agreed to speak.

     32nd ACCMCC, 2007, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand
     The thirty-second meeting of the Australasian Conference on Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing will be held at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, 3 - 7 December 2007. Abstracts for contributed talks should be submitted by 16 November.

     CATS 2008 --- Computing: The Australasian Theory Symposium , University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
     The 14th CATS symposium will be held at the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, during January 22-25, 2008. CATS is one of the two premier annual conferences in theoretical computer science in the Asia-Pacific.
     Keynote Speaker: Eric Allender, Rutgers, New Jersey
     Authors are invited to submit papers that present original and unpublished research on topics including (but not limited to) the following areas:
  • Algorithms and Data Structures, Complexity Theory, Graph Theory, Graph

     Workshop on Algorithmics, Napier, New Zealand 
     The New Zealand Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (NZIMA) is funding a thematic programme on Algorithmics: "New Directions and Applications in 2008". To launch the programme, a workshop is being held in Napier, Feb 18-22 2008. The workshop includes two expository lectures by each of the invited speakers, as well as short contributed talks and problem sessions.

     RECENT NEWS OF CMSA MEMBERS and others
     Dr. Darryn Bryant from The University of Queensland, received his Hall Medal at the ICA meeting in Reading at the 2007 BCC.


     Prof. Cheryl Praeger of the University of Western Australia, has been awarded an ARC Federation Fellowship on May 2007.

     Dr. Rebecca Gower, a life member of the CMSA, has a new permanent position as the Technology Translator for the Smith Institute (for Industrial Mathematics and System Engineering).
     The Smith Institute undertakes private consulting in applications of mathematics but it also runs the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) for Industrial Mathematics. KTNs are a UK government initiative to transfer knowledge into Industry and the public sector (for more information on the Maths KTN see http://www.industrialmaths.net.)

     A Prof. Gordon Royle of the University of Western Australia will be moving from Computer Science & Software Engineering to Mathematics & Statistics in July 2008.


     Prof. Jozef Siran has a new position as the Professor in Pure Mathematics in The Mathematics Department at the The Open University UK.



     The AUSTRALASIAN JOURNAL OF COMBINATORICS
     The web page for the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics is at http://ajc.math.auckland.ac.nz/.
     The Journal is now published three times per year, in February, June and October.   CMSA Members are entitled to a $10 discount per volume.
     There is a search facility for past authors and for keywords in the titles of papers.  Instructions to authors are also available at this web site.
     The contents of all volumes, 1 to 37, are listed at the above web page, and volume 38 is currently being posted out.
     We also now have free public access to the full papers in Volumes 1 to 27 inclusive.   All but the last four years are available free.
     Submissions to the Australas. J. Combin. may be sent to ajc at maths.uq.edu.au.  Electronic submissions are encouraged.  For paper submissions, please check the web page.
