Recent news

Collaboration

Jennifer Seberry, Centre for Computer Security Research, University of Wollongong, NSW, has been working with Nickolay Balonin, Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Russia, on visualisation of Hadamard and other similar matrices. See http://mathscinet.ru/catalogue/twocirculanthadamard/ for some graphics.

Awards

Michael Brand and Marsha Minchenko, of the Discrete Mathematics Research Group at Monash University, were each selected for the second Heidelberg Laureate Forum (http://www.heidelberg-laureate-forum.org/), to be held 21-26 September 2014 at Heildelberg University, Germany. They follow in the footsteps of Kerri Morgan, who participated in the inaugural HLF last year. The HLF brings together 200 students and early career researchers in mathematics and computer science from around the world to meet with with past winners of the Fields Medal, Abel Prize, Turing Award and Nevanlinna Prize. Michael graduated as PhD in May; more information is in CMSA E-Newsletter 39.

New PhDs

Sarada Rachelle Anne Herke was recently awarded her PhD from The University of Queensland for her thesis Perfect 1-Factorisations of Circulant Graphs. Her supervisors were Barbara Maenhaut and Darryn Bryant. Congratulations to Sarada, Barbara, and Darryn. Sarada also has an MSc from the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. She is currently a research fellow in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash University.

Marsha Elizabeth Minchenko will be awarded her PhD later this year. Her supervisors were Ian Wanless and Daniel Horsley in the School of Mathematical Sciences. Her thesis, Counting Subgraphs of Regular Graphs using Spectral Moments, is at http://arrow.monash.edu.au/hdl/1959.1/931200. Congratulations to Marsha, Ian, and Daniel.

The Australasian Journal of Combinatorics

The website for the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics is http://ajc.maths.uq.edu.au/.

The Journal is now online only, free for readers and authors (so it is a "diamond open access" journal). There are three volumes per year, with each volume closing in February, June and October, matching the time of publication of the old paper volumes. Volumes are currently being uploaded in three batches. All three parts of Volume 59 are now online, and Volume 60 part 1 appeared recently. Parts 2 and 3 will be uploaded in August and late September.

Visit http://ajc.maths.uq.edu.au/ and sign up to subscribe to email notices whenever new papers are published. The contents of all volumes, 1 to 59, are listed at the above web page.

Submissions to the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics may be sent to ajc@maths.uq.edu.au. Only pdf files are required at submission stage.

The Journal is now indexed by Scopus from Volume 13 (1996) onwards.

ISSN: 2202-3518 (online only, from 2014); 1034-4942 (paper, to end 2013).
