40ACCMCC December 2016

The 40th Australasian Conference on Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing (40ACCMCC) will be held at the University of Newcastle, Australia, Monday 12 to Friday 16 December 2016.

Early-bird registration until 1 November. Abstract submission deadline is 18 November. Registration closes 25 November.

Flinders Hamiltonian Cycle Project Challenge Set Announcement

The FHCP Challenge Set is a collection of 1001 instances of the Hamiltonian Cycle Problem, ranging in size from 66 vertices up to 9528 vertices, with an average size of just over 3000 vertices. The problems are in the standard HCP format (see below). All of the instances are designed to be difficult to solve using standard HCP heuristics. Every one of the 1001 graphs is known to be Hamiltonian.

The Challenge Set can be downloaded from http://fhcp.csem.flinders.edu.au/fhcpcs or http://www.iwr.uni-heidelberg.de/groups/comopt/software/TSPLIB95 The competition deadline is 30 September 2016.

FHCP is offering a USD1001 prize for the first researcher, or team of researchers, who can provide a solution for every graph in the set. If no team is successful in solving all 1001 graphs by the competition deadline, then the team which solved the largest number of graphs will win the prize, so research teams are encouraged to submit partial sets of solutions early and often!

The results of the competition will be announced during the AustMS 2016 annual meeting in December.

The Australasian Journal of Combinatorics

The website for the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics is http://ajc.maths.uq.edu.au/.

The Journal is now online only, free for readers and authors (so it is a 'diamond open access' journal). There are three volumes per year, with each volume closing in February, June and October, matching the time of publication of the old paper volumes. Volumes are currently being uploaded in three batches. All three parts of Volume 64 (February 2016) are now online. Volume 65 part 1 is appearing in early April.

Visit http://ajc.maths.uq.edu.au/ and sign up to subscribe to email notices whenever new papers are published. The contents of all volumes, 1 to 63, are listed at the above web page.

Submissions to the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics may be sent to ajc@maths.uq.edu.au. Only pdf files are required at submission stage.

The Journal is now indexed by Scopus from Volume 13 (1996) onwards, and by Thomson Reuters "Emerging Sources Citation Index" from 2015 on.
