The 2009 33ACCMCC conference
In 2009 the conference returns to Newcastle, the site of the first conference (that was held in 1972). The first conference was held on the main campus while this year's conference will be held at a University venue in the heart of the city.
33ACCMCC is a forum in which researchers can present their work and exchange ideas with others in their field. Topics of interest cover all areas of combinatorial mathematics, combinatorial computing and combinatorial optimization.
Participants are invited to submit papers based on their talks to The Australasian Journal of Combinatorics (AJC) however there are no plans to publish a special issue of the journal. All submissions will undergo the normal refereeing process in keeping with the standards of the journal.
The 2009 33ACCMCC conference will be held in Newcastle, NSW, Dec 7-11 2009.

The ICRTGC-2010 Conference
International Conference on Recent Trends in Graph theory and Combinatorics , ICRTGC-2010 12-15, August 2010, Cochin, India.
This conference is a Satellite Conference of the International Congress of Mathematicians to be held at Hyderabad, India from 19-27 August, 2010.
The academic programme will consist of plenary and invited talks by eminent researchers in the field of Graph theory, Combinatorics and related topics from all parts of the world , contributed presentations and mini symposia on specific themes such as Algebraic Graph Theory, Metric Graph Theory and Graph Products , Graph Labeling and Graph Operators.

CATS 2010
CATS (Computing: The Australasian Theory Symposium) is an annual conference dedicated to theoretical computer science. In 2010, the 16th Computing: The Australasian Theory Symposium will be held in Brisbane, Australia, January 18- 21, 2010.
The proceedings of this event will be published by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) in the CRPIT Series (http://crpit.com/), and will also appear in the ACM digital library. CATS 2010 is part of the Australasian Computer Society Week (ACSW), an international annual conference event, supported by the Computing Research and Education Association (CORE) in Australia. ACSW 2010 is hosted by the School of Information Technology at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, in January 2010.
Call for papers
Authors are invited to submit papers that present original and unpublished research on topics including (but not limited to) the following areas:

Ian Wanless is presented with the Australian Mathematical Society Medal
The Australian Mathematical Society Medal is awarded to a member of the Society under the age of 40 years for distinguished research in the mathematical sciences. A significant portion of the research work should have been carried out in Australia.

Brendan McKay is a sectional speaker at 2010 ICM
Brendan McKay is among the 171 invited sectional speakers at the International Congress of Mathematicians on 19-27 August, 2010 in Hyderabad, India.
Eyal Loz has completed his PhD
Eyal Loz has successfully completed his PhD at the University of Auckland, with a thesis on "The Degree-Diameter and Cage Problems: A Study in Structural Graph Theory" (written under the supervision of Jozef Siran and Marston Conder, and initially Paul Bonnington). Eyal used covering and voltage graph techniques to construct many of what are now the largest known connected regular graphs of given degree d and diameter k, for d up to 20 and k up to 10.

Jianmin Tang has completed his PhD
Jianmin Tang has successfully completed his PhD at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, The University of Newcastle, with a thesis on "Variations of Classical Extremal Graph Theoretical Problems: Moore Bound and Connectivity". Supervisors Mirka Miller and Yuqing Lin; external co-supervisor: Camino Balbuena (UPB, Spain). Jianmin will graduate in October 2009.

Benjamin Smith has completed his PhD
Benjamin Smith has successfully completed his PhD at the School of Mathematics and Physics, The University of Queensland, with a thesis entitled "Decompositions of generalised complete graphs".
Supervisor Elizabeth Billington, and Associate Supervisors Nicholas Cavenagh and Barry Jones.
Ben now has a post-doc at Koc University in Turkey for a year.

The Australasian Journal of Combinatorics
The web page for the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics is at http://ajc.maths.uq.edu.au/.
The Journal is published three times per year, in February, June and October. CMSA Members are entitled to a $10 discount per volume.
There is a search facility for past authors and for keywords in the titles of papers. Instructions to authors are also available at this web site.
The contents of all volumes, 1 to 45, are listed at the above web page. We also now have free public access to the full papers in Volumes 1 to 33 inclusive. All but the last four years are available for free.
Submissions to the Australas. J. Combin. may be sent to ajc at maths.uq.edu.au. Electronic submissions are encouraged. For paper submissions, please check the web page.
